Anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive lung cancer, which you may hear called ALK+ lung cancer, is a particular type of lung cancer. It is unique in comparison to other lung cancers because the cancer cells have a change in the ALK gene. ALK+ lung cancer is more common in younger people (aged 50 and below), people who have never smoked, women, and people of East Asian ethnicity.1,2
